The Ring

The engagement ring Oscar chose for Sage could not fit her more perfectly. In fact, as a child, she used to wear one of her mother's rings that had a sapphire with a diamond on each side and even asked her mom if she could have it when she got engaged. Oscar knew none of this, and never spoke to Sage about rings, which makes his choice all the more impressive. The leaves are not only a pun on Sage's name, but also a representation of nature and its importance in our relationship.

Oscar's grandmother worked selling jewelry for over 25 years, and it is from the shop she worked at that Oscar bought the ring. He didn't even know he still had family there until he started talking with them about the ring! We got to meet his aunt for the first time!
